Getting Started
Image of globe International accounts are always welcome at York Securities!
York Securities has been in business since 1979, and is a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). At York, you may partake in the trading of stocks and options in a cash or margin account, with low commissions and margin rates.
While you will be a customer of York Securities, all accounts will be carried at the clearing agent, Penson Financial Services, Inc. Penson Financial Services is a division of PENSON WORLDWIDE (NASDAQ symbol "PNSN"), and provides full-scale execution, clearing and business enhancement services for broker-dealers nationwide and abroad.
York Securities and Penson Financial are both members of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). The Securities Investor Protection Corporation ("SIPC") provides $500,000 of net equity protection, including $100,000 for claims for cash awaiting reinvestment ("SIPC coverage").
Penson Financial provides additional protection ("Excess SIPC") through a group of London Underwriters (with Lloyd's of London Syndicates as the Lead Underwriter). Account protection applies when a SIPC member firm fails financially and is unable to meet obligations to securities clients, but it does not protect against losses from the rise and fall in the market value of investments, and does not cover all assets.
For more information about Account Protection, vist the Help Desk.
